Kosuke Kawamura:
Graphic Designer, Art Director, Collage Artist, and Art Director for ERECT Magazine. Kawamura provides artworks and graphics for numerous clothing brands and advertisements. Other areas of his work covers a wide range of field such as designing flyers for concerts and events, DVD and CD jackets, book covers,etc. As a collage artist, he has collaborated with various artists and has held solo exhibitions in Japan and around the world, as well as participated in many group shows. His notable works include the main visuals for Katsuhiro Otomo’s GENGA Exhibition (2012) and also collaboration with Katsuhiro Otomo in creation of INSIDE BABEL (for Bruegel’s Tower of Babel Exhibition, 2017), now housed in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Netherland. He collaborated with him again for an art wall exhibit in Shibuya PARCO “AD 2019” and created a collage art on the theme of Otomo’s renowned manga AKIRA.

With the SKX design as the base, Kawamura has referred to SEIKO’s design archives from the 60s to 70s to select their notable elements and put them together into a single watch design as a collage. (dial is a collage - see cell AH13 for a reference picture)

Purpose of launching/ Market trend:
- Introduce new collaboration model to reach deep into the target customers thus differentiating the brand, improving value, and arousing interest.
- Arouse interest among watch (Seiko, 5 Sports) fans by creating a collage of Seiko’s heritage.
- Bring forward the archive to make the brand background clear while implying on the 55th Anniversary coming up next year.

- With the SKX design as the base, Kawamura has taken from the Seiko archive the parts design from the 60s to 70s and put them together into a single watch design as a collage.

- The model adopts the Seiko heritage design made of translucent dial that shows through the day & date discs. (day calendar is in English-Japanese for all areas)
- Kawamura's signatures on the case back, buckle, and the accompanying box.
- A special poster newly designed by Kawamura will be set inside the box.
